Summer Is Coming — Here's Everything OBS Has for You This Summer
Ottawa Blizzards Soccer | Summer 2026
Whether you're a parent looking for the perfect program for your child, or an adult ready to lace up again — this summer, Ottawa Blizzards Soccer has something for everyone.
We've been building something special here since 2017, and this summer we're going bigger. From youth development to adult recreational leagues, here's everything that's coming and how to make sure you're first in line when registration opens.
YOUTH PROGRAMS — Ages U6 to U13
Skill. Confidence. Character.
This summer, OBS is offering three distinct pathways for young players aged U6 through U13. Whether your child is brand new to the game or looking to take their development to the next level, there's a program built for them.
Vortex Soccer Youth Development League
The Vortex Soccer Youth Development League (VSYDL) is our flagship youth program this summer — and it's unlike anything else available in Ottawa for this age group.
Players play twice per week: one game day and one dedicated skill development session. The philosophy is simple — games build competitive experience, and training builds the physical and technical foundation to thrive in them. Together, they create a complete development environment.
Every session is run by OBS certified coaches who are trained not just in the game, but in how to bring the best out of young players. We don't believe in leaving any child behind. Every kid on the pitch gets attention, gets coached, and gets better.
If you want your child in an environment that takes their development seriously — not just their win-loss record — this is it.
Private Training
Private Training at OBS is available for players of all ages and all skill levels. Whether your child is just starting out or working toward a competitive team spot, we meet them exactly where they are.
Here's how it works: tell us your position, your goals, and what you're working on. You can choose your coach from our roster of OBS certified coaches, or we'll match you with the right fit. Scheduling is flexible, and locations are too — we can come to you, or you can come to us.
Private training is the fastest way to see individual improvement. It's personal, focused, and built entirely around the player in front of us.
Partner Clinics
Not ready to commit to a full season? Partner Clinics are the perfect first step into the OBS family.
These are one-day clinics we run in partnership with local organizations — we've worked with local churches and summer camps in the past, and we're looking to expand those partnerships and add more this year.
If you want to get a feel for what OBS coaching looks like, how we run a session, and whether it's the right environment for your child before signing up for a full program — this is your low-barrier, high-value entry point. You'll know after one session whether OBS is home.
ADULT RECREATIONAL
The pitch is calling.
OBS has been running adult soccer in Ottawa for years, and this summer we're bringing back two of our most popular formats. Whether you're in it for the competition, the community, or just to get back on the pitch — there's a spot for you.
Coed 7s — Carleton University
Join the winningest team in the Glebe.
Our Coed 7s league runs at Carleton University and is open to new and returning players. This is recreational soccer at its best — competitive enough to keep you engaged, welcoming enough that you'll actually show up every week. We've built a vibrant community of players who come for the game and stay for the people.
If you've been thinking about getting back into soccer, or you're looking for a new crew to play with this summer, this is your sign. New players are always welcome. Returning players already know what's waiting for them.
Men's 11s
Men's 11s is back — and so is the city-wide battle.
This summer, teams are built based on where in Ottawa you live. You'll represent your region, compete against the rest of the city, and battle it out for bragging rights across Ottawa. Last time we ran this format, Ottawa West came out on top. The question this summer is simple: will they defend it, or will your region rise up?
Full 11-a-side. City-wide competition. Regional pride on the line. This one is for the guys who want real football.
