Youth Development

At Ottawa Blizzards Soccer, we’re passionate about developing tomorrow's leaders while nurturing a lifelong love for the game. Our Youth Development Programs are built on the belief that soccer can be a powerful tool for fun, teaching life lessons, building character, and fostering friendships.

Certified Coaches Who Care

Our team of certified coaches undergo regular training to ensure our age-specific programs are safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate. With a focus on positivity, problem solving and encouragement, our coaches create an environment where kids can thrive both as athletes and individuals.

Age Group Pairings

We understand that each stage of development is unique. That’s why our programs are carefully divided into age-appropriate groups, ensuring every child is challenged and supported at their level:

  • U3 (Ages 2-3): Introducing soccer in a playful and interactive way, focusing on motor skills, coordination, and confidence-building through fun activities.
  • U6 (Ages 4-6): Focus on fun, motor skills, and basic ball control.
  • U8 (Ages 7-8): Building coordination, teamwork, and an introduction to game tactics.
  • U10 (Ages 9-10): Sharpening technical skills, decision-making, and confidence on the field.
  • U12 (Ages 11-12): Developing advanced techniques, teamwork, and game intelligence.
  • U14+ (Ages 13 and up): Preparing for competitive play with a focus on leadership, resilience, and strategy.

Character Traits We Foster

Our Youth Development Programs go beyond the game, teaching kids valuable life skills and character traits that stay with them long after the final whistle:

  • Teamwork: Understanding the power of collaboration and supporting one another.
  • Resilience: Learning how to embrace challenges and bounce back stronger.
  • Leadership: Gaining confidence to guide and inspire both on and off the field.
  • Discipline: Building habits of focus, commitment, and respect.
  • Respect: Fostering appreciation for teammates, opponents, coaches, and the game itself.
  • Accountability: Teaching responsibility for actions, decisions, and commitments both on and off the field.

Through engaging sessions, supportive coaching, and a community-driven environment, we help kids grow as players and as people.

Give your child the opportunity to thrive both on and off the field.
